Solid hosting, minor speed bump

I recently signed up for their Business Hosting plan after comparing it to a few other options. The pricing was competitive, especially with the annual payment discount. The overall process of getting my site migrated was quite efficient, and their support team was helpful when I had a question about DNS settings. Performance has been good, and the daily backups are a nice reassurance. My only minor gripe was that it took about 48 hours for the CDN integration to fully propagate, which was a bit longer than I expected. Not a huge deal, but something they could probably streamline a bit more. Otherwise, a positive experience.

Consistent service, reliable hosting

I've been using TD Web Services for a couple of years now, mostly for their Managed WordPress Hosting. This last order was for another site, and honestly, the experience was just as smooth as the previous times. Setup was quick, and the site migration went without a hitch, like it always does. My existing sites with them have been super stable, and this new one is performing just as well out of the gate. They're not the cheapest, but the reliability keeps me coming back. Never had any major downtime issues.

Good deal for Hybrid Cloud

I was shopping around for Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure and saw TD Web Services had an introductory offer for new customers. The 25% off for the first year made a significant difference compared to other providers I looked at, especially for the features included. I also signed up for annual billing to get an additional discount, which felt like a smart move. The setup process was straightforward, and I'm happy with the performance so far. It felt like I got a good deal without compromising on what I needed. Definitely worth the purchase.

Quick VPS setup, fast server

Needed a new Cloud VPS. Setup was fast, server performs well. Price was fair for the specs. No complaints there. Good service.

My Enterprise Hosting renewal notice just came in, and the price jump is quite a bit higher than what I paid last year. Anyone else seeing this with their renewals, especially for larger plans?

C coolboy88 4 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Happened to me last year. I ended up calling support and they gave me a small discount to stay, but it wasn't the same as the intro price. Maybe try that?

Good idea. I'll give them a call tomorrow. Thanks!

N NikhilS 4 weeks ago
Did they offer anything significant or just a token discount?

C coolboy88 4 weeks ago
It was enough to make me stay, but definitely not the original deal. Still, better than nothing.

Mine went up a bit too, but I'm on a Business Hosting plan. Did you check if your initial price was an introductory offer that's now expiring?
1
R Rahul 4 weeks ago
Yeah, sometimes the first year is heavily discounted. Always worth asking support if there's a renewal promo code they can apply.
2
G Gaurav 4 weeks ago
I thought I locked in a longer term. Will need to re-check the fine print.

D Deepak 4 weeks ago
I pay annually and found their annual billing savings were pretty good, so the jump wasn't as bad. Are you on a monthly plan?
4
G Gaurav 4 weeks ago
No, I'm annual too. Just surprised by the percentage increase.

My website's traffic is growing quite a bit and my current VPS is struggling. Thinking about upgrading to a Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure plan with TD Web Services. Anyone made a similar jump?

G gamerraj 2 weeks ago
I went from a shared host to their Business Hosting and then to a dedicated server eventually. The Hybrid Cloud is definitely a step up from VPS in terms of scalability and resources. What kind of traffic spikes are you seeing?
6
R RahulK 2 weeks ago
Did you get a good deal on the dedicated server?
3
T techfreak 1 week ago
We get unpredictable spikes during product launches, sometimes 5x the normal load for a few hours. That's where the VPS just chokes.
3
D darkknight 1 week ago
Yeah, that sounds like a good use case for hybrid cloud then. You need that burst capacity.
7
R rockstar007 2 weeks ago
Make sure you ask about load balancers if you're expecting those kinds of traffic fluctuations. They can set that up for you with the hybrid cloud.
3
T techfreak 2 weeks ago
Good point. I hadn't thought about that specifically, but it makes sense.
4
D deepu 1 week ago
They mention load balancers on their site for Enterprise plans, not sure about Hybrid directly.

I heard their data centers are in India, is that right? For me, low latency for Indian users is a big factor.
5
R Rahul87 1 week ago
Yes, I believe they have multiple locations in India. You can choose during setup.

I'm looking to host a small business site, what's the typical discount for new customers? And do I need a code?

T Tara Marsh 1 month ago
They usually have introductory offers, like 20-50% off for the first year. Sometimes it's automatic if you pick annual billing.
6
P Priya J. 1 month ago
Most of the time you don't need a specific code if you just go through their site for a new plan, especially for annual stuff. But if you have one, you'd apply it at checkout.

Anyone know if they have a Black Friday sale coming up? Don't want to buy now if there's a big discount around the corner.

G Gwen Walsh 1 month ago
They usually do, most hosting companies go big for Black Friday/Cyber Monday. I'd wait if you can.
5
S Shane Torres 1 month ago
Pretty sure I saw something about annual sales for Black Friday last year. Worth checking closer to November.

Just moved my small business site over to TD Web Services Managed WordPress. So far, feeling pretty good about it compared to my old host. Speeds seem snappier and setup was surprisingly smooth.

R Rahul87 1 month ago
Glad to hear that! I've been looking at their Managed WordPress plans too. Did you use their free migration service?
3
S Sneha22 1 month ago
Following this, also thinking about migrating.
2
P PriyaK 1 month ago
Yeah, I did. Took about a day from start to finish. They handled everything, I just had to provide the old host credentials.
1
A AmitM 1 month ago
That's good to know. My current host makes migrations a nightmare.

D Deepak 1 month ago
What about the pricing after the intro offer? Heard it can jump quite a bit.
3
C coolboy88 1 month ago
That's my main concern too. New customer discount is always tempting but the renewal price is key.
2
P PoojaR 1 month ago
I think if you pay annually, it's generally better even after the intro rate ends. Worth checking the terms.
4
N NikhilS 1 month ago
Any thoughts on their support? Had a bad experience with my last host's customer service.

P PriyaK 1 month ago
Too early to say for me, haven't needed it yet thankfully. Hope it's 24/7 like they claim.

I had a small issue with my SSL certificate last month and they fixed it pretty quickly through chat. So far so good.

How do they stack up against DigitalOcean or Kinsta? I'm debating between those for a new project.

K Kate 1 month ago
Kinsta is really good but pricier. For raw VPS power, DigitalOcean is solid. TD Web Services feels like a good middle ground if you want more managed stuff than DO but not Kinsta prices.
1
M Mike H. 1 month ago
Depends on what you need. If you're comfy with managing servers, DO gives you more control. If you want more hand-holding and managed services, TD Web Services or Kinsta are better. Kinsta is WP specific though.

Just moved my small business site to TD Web Services Managed WordPress. Speeds are way better than my old host, but the admin panel feels a bit different. Anyone else find it takes some getting used to?

D Deepak91 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
I had a similar experience. The learning curve exists, but the performance boost for my WooCommerce store was totally worth it. Are you using their CDN integration too?
8
D Deepak91 1 month ago
Depends on your plan. For my Business Hosting, it was an easy add-on and made a noticeable difference.
1
P PriyaS 1 month ago
Not yet, but considering it. Is it included or an add-on?
2
R Rahul87 1 month ago
Yeah, the first week was a bit of a maze for me too. But once you get the hang of it, it's pretty powerful. What specifically are you finding tricky?
3
T techfreak 1 month ago
I actually prefer the TD panel now. Much more control.
3
A AmitM 1 month ago
True, but their support docs are decent. I usually just search there if I'm stuck.
5
P PriyaS 1 month ago
Just finding where everything is. My old host had a super basic cPanel. This is more feature-rich but less intuitive initially.
4
S Sneha 1 month ago
Following. Thinking of switching my site over to their Managed WP too.

Worth it for the speed, honestly.

Thinking about moving my wordpress site here. Is it really good for wordpress like they say, or just marketing fluff?

M Marcus E. 1 month ago
Yeah, I moved my WooCommerce site over last year and it's been super fast. Way better than my old host.

O Omar F. 1 month ago
I've got a couple of client sites on their managed WordPress and no complaints. The managed security and daily backups are a big plus.
